always-hot solar oven?

Living in SoCal I'm wondering whether anyone has attempted to build a brick oven that is heated by the sun. I don't mean the cardboard box with reflectors type but a real (small) brick oven that is very well insulated and heated to ~500F indirectly by solar energy, for example, using hot air through evacuated tubes. Also, this would not be an oven to heat up the day of the bake, more something that stays hot 24x7 (unless there's no sun for several days). I've been doing some back-of-the-envelope calculations and it seems feasible but "not trivial". I haven't found much helpful info so far and would appreciate any pointers...
